Giving Back

We don't often talk about it, but one of our core tenants is giving back to our community. At Farina's, our unofficial motto is to help others write their next best chapter in life, and we look for opportunities to partner with non-profit organizations who serve the DFW metroplex that are helping do just that: writing their next best chapter in life.
This fall, we've had the opportunity to work with Hagar's Heart, a non-profit organization that provides support to domestic violence shelters throughout the metroplex. Hagar's Heart aims to empower, educate, and support domestic violence survivors during recovery. They provide "I See You" boxes to survivors of intimate partner violence as they enter shelters.
"It is said it takes 5-7 positive reinforcements to undo a single negative one. This is why each of our hand-picked and packed I See You Boxes contains multiple mementos of self-care.
On top of the box is a handwritten note from a volunteer emphasizing you are seen, worthy, loved, and deserve a new beginning. Inside, you will find self-care tools and personal items that may have been left behind when leaving but are also to encourage the survivor to see how self-care activities can promote healing." - Hagar's Heart
We had the opportunity to write handwritten notes that will go into I See You boxes during our GrapeFest prep staff meeting. Getting to give back as we prep for a busy week ahead helped remind us that we can make an impact, no matter how small.
